Our line of\u00a0Caribbean Heart Pine Flooring<\/a>\u00a0has been a success.\u00a0 Houses and commercial properties across the United States now enjoy the classic and yet classy look and feel of heart pine flooring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the process of marketing and eventually developing the market, one question has plagued us from the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo you have stair treads?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy not?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good question.  One question we could never seem to answer, at least with any kind of knowledge of why we didn\u2019t carry treads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, we still do not carry stair treads in heart pine but we have the next best thing.  We now have rough sawn 5\/4 x 10\u201d stock to make treads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fact is, if we bring in pre-made treads it would actually cost our customers more money.  We would have to purchase 60\u201d treads in order to accommodate the majority of sizes.  Even with that, some want larger treads and we wouldn\u2019t be able to help with a 60\u201d tread.  Research shows it would be more beneficial to our customers to have their contractor make the treads to fit their needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Although it doesn\u2019t look like much in the rough, in the hands of a skilled craftsman, they become a thing of beauty that will wonderfully compliment your new heart pine floors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rough sawn stock has the same qualities as the flooring.  Why wouldn\u2019t it?  After all, that is the same material which the flooring is made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thickness of the 5\/4 material is quite generous.  The rough sawn thickness ranges from 1 \u00bc\u201d to 1 \u00bd\u201d.  You can thank the sawyer for that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Widths can be less predictable.  The 10\u201d width can run anywhere from 9 \u00bd\u201d to 10 \u00bd\u201d rough sawn.  The best yield to figure for use would be 9\u201d from a 10\u201d board.  You can thank the sawyer for that too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
